Tapu Camp is a beachfront camping ground, located along the picturesque, winding coast road just 20 minutes north of Thames. Tapu is the ideal spot to unwind and get away from it all – perfect for a weekend of fishing or time with the family. There is safe swimming either in the sea or in the swimming holes in the creek nearby. A children’s playground is situated next door at the school. It is only a short distance to the great all-weather, all-tide Waikawau boat ramp, and from there, only 5 minutes to snapper fishing at the mussel farms.

  • Awesome campsite! We stayed 2 nights under the big tree right on the beach. Great showers, friendly staff and a really nice relaxed atmosphere. Wind can get a little strong, our tent stood strong through. Also the sunset is gorgeous and the location is good if you’re wanting to explore the Coromandel

  • The Education Here is Amazing. Professor are very helpful .Thank you for  my degree. I use it for several of the reasons other people mention. My favorite use, however, is deciding where my work colleagues and I will go to lunch every Thursday. This thing is getting better and better as I learn more about it.
